correct name for these screws

What is the correct name for these, anyone? need to ring local place but dont know how to describe them, cant find the name on web either, if I put Hex head in I just get tex screws and dont want those.

Like @eulb I would have called a coach bolt similar to his description.

I shall say the TFF collective say I want "Hex head coach screws"

yes that is what I call a coach bolt.

Screw fix do one called turbo coach. Similar but will cut its own hole to a certain extent.

I always thought a screw was threaded all the way up, a bolt is not.

A screw have a pointed end to cut into the timber and bolt has flat end.

No thunder bolts have a much shallower thread than coach screws.

Defo thunderbolts ,I use them often ,much better than raw bolt fasteners

In my experience they are pretty useless as they tend to rip the concrete or brickwork so that the thread doesn't grip. Rawl bolt much stronger and reliable.

I've always known them as coach bolts, so has Bim who is a 67 year old ground worker, here today

OH was asked to get some coach bolts and came back with the wrong thing (i.e. not those)

aint thunder bolts they have flat end, coach bolts here is our term for them here

not if you only use the drill size of the bolt ,Ive used these to fix 6x2 timbers ,never had any trouble with them ,

I like them as you can get them out if you need to ,all ways squirt a drop of oil in the holes ,that makes them twist in better and they dont rust in the wall
