Countax A20/50 help required please

Hi after trawling many pages of the WWW this forums seem to be the only worth while source on contacting to possibly shed some light on my issue before I put a match to it.

Im a motor mechanic and have been nominated to fix my father in laws mower.

Its a countax A20/50 it seems to start and run ok with every operation working except when engine running and releasing handbrake it stalls and it will continue to stall every time handbrake is released and this obviously needs to work ok to signal the mower to engage which it’s failing to do.

I’ve downloaded the manual and parts catalogue but cannot seem to understand why without stripping further.

Am I missing something obvious ?

In return I’ll add that I specialise in Mercedes Benz cars and run a successful mobile Mercedes repair service if that can be of any help to you in return now or at a later date for any any advise in this matter.

thanks n advance

Normal service items yes but transmissions area little specialist requiring diagnostic equipment to reset adaption data to optimise shift quality getting more specialist every year. Mainly it’s the common issues I.e timing chains/sprockets and electrical faults that I do mainly as a main dealer alternative.

I expect it is the pressure sensor under the seat. Engine will cut if you fall off. The handbreak on means the engine will continue to run as you haven't fallen off.

Just went down to the garage and bridged seat switch still cuts out when handbrake released.
I checked for a brake light switch around pedal area but no joy.
The selector rod attached to the release lever is within the chassis and hard to inspect so I might drop down the mower/blades sectionti hopefully enable a better insight.
ive checked parts catalog schematics but can’t see any switches on there.

This may sound silly but have you checked for poor electrical connections
I have portable welder with Honda engine that won't start if there's insufficient oil in sump

Will you help clear snow?
