Countryfile tonight

I do not handle foals, and certainly wouldn't want them going through my pockets, if they get any food, it would be in a bucket. The only time they are touched are to stand for the farrier every six weeks, vet to have injections, and for worming.
I tend to buy after Christmas cheap foals that have been over handled, usually got a bit nippy, and got too big for their boots, they are stored like cattle, out in summer and in sheds in winter, with older animals that teach them manners. They are next to my cows, so really it's the same system.
I have had a shireX and draughtX, and big horses are no trouble, if like Highlands they do not realise how strong they are, are not allowed to push you around, and never put yourself in a situation where they can get away from you.
It's a splendid brown coat. I'm puzzled why a 4 month old foal isn't inquisitive and playing hunt the polo mint or asking for a scratch by the ear, but that's only going by my experience of my pony's foal umpty years ago. How do Suffolk Punches tick, and are draught breeds in general different in their temperament when young?

I cannot remember the last time I watched Countryfile, but when I turned the tv on this evening to be met instantly by @Suffolk Serf on screen I had to tarry a while.

Heartbreaking, well done for doing it though, did you put yourself forward or did they find you from somehow else?
They contacted me asking me to send in a bit of DIY film. When I didn't they decided to come on out.

Sorry i shouldve said , the Pigs looked cracking by the way , really good system for keeping them who can argue otherwise and yes it is very sad and wasteful to see people who obviously are so interested in and very skilled and consistently hard working at a job 'cast aside' .

Totally mis-education of the public yet again by the Beeb.
Even Adam getting it totally wrong.
Everybody now ‘not-in-the-know’ will think that Conservation agriculture just means Organic.

FFS BBC, can’t you get it right, just once for a change?
