We have tenants in a farmhouse and they have a little dog. Admittedly they've never been farmers but I told them the other day that we have cows and calves in the fields near their house and that they should be very careful, especially if the dog was with them. Their reply: "Oh, our dog is totally harmless, she'd never chase the cows." I told them that I knew that but that the cows would chase the dog regardless and the dog would run back to their feet and that they could quite easily get killed. I'm not convinced the penny has dropped still. :banghead:

Unfortunately and inadvertently I was around last night when this was on....
And as well as the 'what breed is worse' rubbish, what did we all think of dear old Adam cooing into the ear of a newborn foal?? With mum standing placidly looking on?

Cue rambler and pretty new born calf with the same aaarrrhhh factor.
That damn programme should come with a health warning 'don't do this at home'. :banghead: And Adam should know better.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
