Countryside Stewardship and Elms

In 2027 will Elms replace Stewardship or will the two schemes run side by side

Stewardship will end for new entrants before then, is talk of 2023/2024, I read that on the Gov site when I was doing my app this year. We will supposedly have the option of swapping to ELMS I think in the middle of the Stewardship agreement if it suits.

Elms is due to start 2024 I believe. There is also talk of an interim scheme coming available much earlier, possibly even later in 2021 which I think will eventually develop into the full ELMS package. Stewardship applications I think are still going to be available until 2024, anyone with a stewardship agreement that runs beyond the start of ELMS can run it to its conclusion or drop it and take up ELMS without penalty. At least until the plans change again.
