Sounds like a good idea thanks, was the trough extension from portequip or home made?Depending on the size of the calves we got an extension for the front lip of the trough on our Portequip creep that makes it too high and deep for sheep. I couldn't believe how quick the woollies stopped trying.
Our calves will be nearer 4.5 months before they're grazed with sheep though so get started without the extension on.
