Any one finding it’s not as effective?
Brought a Hogg in this morning badly struck , they were wormed and crovect Ed about 5 weeks ago
Treated the sheep by dagging out her back end and another spray over of ectofly
This afternoon I got brave and attempted to shear the ewe , there’s still bloody maggots alive and well on her back

For treating ..
Its literally got to land on/under the maggot to kill it. and when it does yes i still find it kills them .

Like Dad used to say got to get well to the outside of the infested area .
I dont use it for preventative as eggs laid outside the treated area will hatch ok even a day after or so. and be viable.
and a spray of it isnt concentrated enough imp. when treating i use a fary liquid container and make sure enough goes on in the araea.

Used strategically Dysect and clik extra has had an excellent effect here as the problem began to build a bout a month ago.

that's what i do anyway,

So many variables possibly.
Was full dose given over back ,arch back end etc. Has there been heavy rain, are sheep clean, dagged, sheared etc etc.
Not sheared , bit shitty to be fair , not much rain but what there has been has been torrential
I always spray down the spine , then a broad “ swipe” across the tail head / genitalia
I was more surprised after dagging it and putting plenty on that there were live maggots when I clipped it , usually see the horrible things dropping off in front of your eyes once the crovect hits

Dosed half of our lambs with ectofly 4 weeks ago and the other half with click/clickzin! Had 13 lambs in the ectofly group out of 1000 in the group already got maggots back on them, phoned to complain and received 2.5l from them 🙈 they blamed the climate!!! Won’t be so tight next year and stick to click products!

Done some Thursday just gone, one or two had grubs on, dosed them well with it and plenty on affected area, had to get them in on Saturday and treat with something else, they were still crawling!! Normally a squirt of the stuff and they’re jumping off before your eyes!! Have they changed the chemicals in it or something?? Definitely not the same

I am fairly sure it can’t be the same , usually see maggots literally jumping off once treated

I think that any that weren't perfectly treated, with the persistent hot and humid conditions we've had, could get struck after 5 weeks without it being the products fault.

It's amazing how many people apply it wrongly, then complain it doesn't work (same goes for the Clik products)

Crovect, at worst, lasts 4 weeks. At best 8 weeks. Due to the nature of the product and how it diminishes with every kill, it is to be expected - it isn't the products fault if the weather is unsuitable or the fly burden is extremely high

It should also say on those instructions that applying on top of a fleece that's longer or tighter even,
it wont get in underneath to do anything , so as to add info to the "only areas covered by spray" bit.

With that in mind Cliksin ime is best preventitive for for pre shearing ewes ,

It was for that particular use that we were part of a trial of it when it first came out.

Just remember ewes shouldn't be shorn for 2 months after being sprayed with Clikzin
