Put this thread on Cropping by mistake, but basically how the hell do you access the movement service? Can’t get past that wretched Cara gateway??

If you select the top option at the Cara gateway and then click next, you then get taken to a screen where you enter your Government Gateway, then after that, if you have set your phone up, they text or phone you an automatic access code.

Ok, logging in is not the problem, what do you click next? None of the next options take me to the movement page, and that’s as far as I can get.
Have used this new system once before, and had trouble then, but can’t remember how I got through it.

You said you couldn't get beyond past the Cara gateway, so that is the advice you were given! Can't be arsed to log back in again to tell you what to do next. I was logged in and did an off movement myself this morning when you were enquiring, so there's nothing wrong with the system, seem to recall it is an option to click on down the left hand side. I think there is a help or support section down the right hand side.

Got it sussed. As Bald Rick said the secret is to tick the box that allows the code to work for 7days. If you don’t it seems to throw a wobbly.?
I’ve only got a small suckler herd so I only have a couple of batches a year, so it seems new to me!

Is the access code by text message a new thing ? since completing my self employed grant a few weeks back its been asking for an access code just to log in, no mobile signal in the house, so have to walk to the field above the house just to jet my access code, and if im not back within the 15 minutes i have to start over again. I did get a hold of someone at bcms and was told its nothing to do with them. its being a right pita just to log in to register calves !

Been like this since turn of the year or certainly since they moved all access to government sites (online VAT, PAYE, RPA etc etc ) on the beta gateway which was scheduled for early April
You are one of the excluded ones yet government think all the population have 4g

you can have it sent to a landline, comes through as a 'robot voice' message, it does not have to be a mobile. Have a pen read to write it down, they repeat it once on the message.

Thanks sorted now. Went down the hmrc app in the end
@Bald Rick yes i am one of the 5% that don't have 4g (in the house) but have got fiber to premesis ?.
@Princess Pooper phone line can be dodgy too sometimes ? so thought the app way would be best.
Ahh the joys of living on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere ?

** fibre **

Damn I hate American spellings loaded on to keyboards.
I note that they managed to expunge Sulphur from all use. We’ve been Trumped

You don’t have to live on the top of a hill to have crap phone signal and internet. Just been upgraded to so called super fast broadband, before that it was 0.2meg!?

The new text thing is a royal pain in my arse. I have to sign in for them to send the text then jump on the quad and go up a hill to get signal and make it back to the computer within 15 minutes :X3: :X3: :X3:
