Day dreaming here but could you take the wings off say a 6m vad and make it 3m? or is the centre section 3.2 or 2.8m or something silly? Would the metering mechanism work if you changed distributor head and reduced number of pipes. No doubt someone has thought of this before and haven't done it because its not easy.

Have taken the wings off an old 4m vaddy to make a 3m one. Had to get a new head for the metering unit. Was an older drill so was using accord parts unlike the newer drills. I don't think 6m would work as well as it has two metering units.

The Centre section is 3 metres. Use it in the folded up position and blank the pipes off that supply the wings. You will still have half width shut off too.
Are you going 3 metre CTF? We used to have a Clayson combine with a 10 foot header.

Never heard the finished outcome but years back chap was going to do this, reason for using a 6 instead of 4 was he was planning on using the second metering system to do starter fert, no idea if he completed it though.
