Dairy-tech

When I worked on the grain driers, we had to take one up to just north of Aberdeen. Lad who was new was coming with us and I asked if he'd ever been to Scotland. He said he had seen most of Scotland but not been as far North as Edinburgh. He couldn't believe there was anything above Edinburgh and it turned out he'd been as far as Jedburgh!

Anyone go?

Too much to do here and really couldn’t be bothered to drive to Stoneleigh although might go to Muck & Grass if I can fire up some enthusiasm

Anyway - dairy tech. Any useful innovations?

Any interpreters willing to have a bash at the above?
1st sentence....
To produce milk you need grass/silage some cake and some suction/cluster setup. Everything else to an extent is a luxury, yes I'm being fairly simplistic, but all the "tech" on show today has to be paid for out of milk price. 50% of the people their today would be selling stuff.
The mood at the event was vibrant and chest out, then get talking away to a few quietly and hear the tales off how tight the job is.

What a ball ache it was having to queue up to register your details just to get in, chaos when we arrived, sort it out RABDF.

As ever came away thinking just how many hangers-on we have in our industry, doubt I'll be going again for a while

I went!
If nothing else, an interesting day out. I went with a mate who relief milks and milk records on farms so he knew a few people to scrounge tea and biccies from.
Some of my thoughts from the day:
Much as @Beef farmer said (I think!) there are alot of people complicating the job, and taking their cut.
Anyone offering a product to 'add value' to milk wants alot of that value for their product!
Lots of stands there very keen to give you something, I was given several mugs, pens, packs of sweets, even a pack of estrotest stickers which will probably last me until next year's event.
UK sires direct were the only semen company who seemed keen to talk to us, and also genuinely interested in what we are doing here. The Cogent stand looked like a ghost town.
Many of the visitors there looked like they actually milked cows, whereas at Cereals most visitors seemed to 'have a chap' to do their bidding.
Lots of attractive girls working around the dairy industry trade.
