Dairy the way forward?

Jersey X to be precise

Looking back through previous CFPs dairy bull calves make tiny part of the income. The extra milk sales will more than make up for it.

People always over estimate the importance of calf income. I'd rather sell a calf for £30 and get an extra 500l than a calf for £200 and potential knackered cows and vet bills etc. I'm happy as long as the calf pays for the AI straw.

If I cared about selling beef I would've kept the suckers

This is Perran, good bull but I'd go for Goonhilly Dexter for only £7 per straw or Goonhilly Josh for £10 per straw;). Even better buy Goonhilly Josh himself. You can't beat natural service from a quality bull can you @farmertom .

I was being optimistic, but thanks for the positivity (y):(

When we moved back here the guy we went working for said
"That the thing about dairy farming you just get used to being tired all the time, you when your getting the cows in the morning and thinking about lying on the track for a sleep".

Filled me with dread even tho I'd been doing it for quite a while
