I'm using one, it's still in its first season but we are getting on well with it at the moment. Yet to do any proper direct drilling with it though (apart from some work as a demo and small bits of trials).

We're glad we've bought it, all new drills are pricey - as was this one.

Pros, drills into ploughed land equally well as direct drilling, excellent trash clearance, even depth placement, a well thought out drill.

Cons, it's a big drill to move around (8m), we have the soil levellers behind each coulter that can be a tad annoying, especially when reversing into an uneven corner.

Overall I'd buy it again without hesitation, it suits us and I can't wait to get stuck into fully DDing with it

Early days for us but so far so good.

Size is a concern - they are VERY tall folded - do you find it stable on the road etc ?

Which type of press wheels do you have behind each coulter? I help someone out who is using an 8mtr one for the second season, it has Guttler press wheels which they have modified to run as a V as they were not consilidating the soil as they were originally bought. As the owner is a contractor, they do a lot of road work with it and I have not heard that is unstable on the road, BUT the operator is a very sensible steady guy.

Just the standard Guttler wheels, running upright as normal and that way (for us on 5" rows) directly behind each coulter. Its quite big on the road, not for the faint hearted or narrow lanes but perfectly ok.

that is interesting. It is my biggest problem with the Dale is that they have the guttler upright which is wrong. Even their new home made version is upright. Guttlers work best at an angle. Good to see someone has changed them on their own drill.
