Please give me your thoughts on a problem with my tractor. I recently had problem with water in my diesel. I extracted the water and purged the pipe work. This allowed me to bleed through any contaminated fuel and air pockets. I have since found a lack of power to the extent that the engine will falter and cut off. This will clear once I restart. However the lack of power is affecting my use of the tractor and implements. Can anyone suggest the cause of the problem and/or suggest a remedy or repair I should consider. Thanks in anticipation of your replies.

Still water in tank possibly, drain and clean all ,fit new filters and buy new fuel possibly

Have you had the lift pump gauze out and cleaned

And the one in the inlet end of the injector pump?

Good point, but also check the rod between the çam shaft and the lift pump as they wear giving a lack of power.
