Can anyone tell me if the stud pattern on a DB885 is the same as other makes of tractor from that era, or are they specific to DB?

I think that if they are 32ins rear wheels, as most 885's were, then they are unique to DB's.

Stand to be corrected though...

Thanks @Selectamatic ... I'm looking for some row crop wheels to go on the back. There's not many about of the right tyre size, and when they do turn up they seem to be off Fords or MFs. I'll just have to keep looking...

The rims will most likely fit your centre, however, they may not be able to give you the same range or full range of widths.
Be wary that many of these old rowcrop tyre sizes are no longer available

Being as it’s 2wd it doesn’t matter what size you use. 8.3-44 would be a good size I would think.

8.3 . 36 would be more appropriate, but as it is 12 speed with a very low box you could get away with the 44's , if they fit under the mudgaurd

I have 9.5 r 48s on my IH 885.....
Top speed is not for the faint hearted

I put 12 48 rowcrops on my 895 it was for ground clearance more than anything.

Brakes, you dont need those unless going downhill, not an issue in Norfolk
May be a different issue in Sussex though

It's the fitting under the mudguard bit that concerns me. There's not a lot of room.

We used them for our DB880 so they've been laying around for decades. I was going to remove the tyres and weigh them in. They're 6.50 44

These wheels would fit the stud arrangement, although quite tight because the 880 would have had 5/8" studs as compared to the 885 having 3/4" , they will just go on.

It's the overall diameter which could be the problem, the 880 no doubt would have had shell fenders. Can't make a comparison using the chart supplied by @Nearly , it does not list 6.50 x 44.

An 8.3x44 is the rowcrop replacement for a 13.6x36 so I'd say a 6.50x44 is going to be roughly the height of a 12.4x36. If there's over 2 inches of clearance around the standard wheels at the moment they should fit

the old way used to be to have rowcrops a size taller than standard to gain a bit of clearance over sprayed crops.
