DD Newbie- Is Simtech a good machine to start off with?

ref. a uk dealer for Duncan drills - try L.W. Yarnold at Worcester. I forget who gave me this contact but their website mentioned Duncan. Have not spoken to them personally, though as an ecoseeder owner I will at some stage need a dealer.
Mine came from Dales Agri who unfortunately no longer hold the franchise.
Year 5 now, one new set of points and one new road tyre due to damage. They are strong.
At the time of purchase, the Duncan was definitely the better built machine, but the constant improvements simtech have made to their own machine has made a good drill now. Their latest coulter design I am told helps trash flow. the fixing bolt arrangement on the Duncan boot can build up with soil in damp conditions which both attracts trash and widens the point.
however, I think you would need a bigger tractor to operate a 3m metre simtech.
the beauty of the trailed Duncan is one drawbar pin, one hydraulic pipe and you`re off....... invincible!

In a mixed farm situation what do folk do with there FYM? Will the Simtech sow into a dunged field and what about compaction when spreading?

Yes have drilled into heavy applications of muck without problems, not tried it in heavy wet slurry though, Not had issues with compaction but avoid doing when land is wet

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
