Presumably it requires inoculation at sowing? Do they need to do that abroad? Maybe totally barking up the wrong tree.

@tw15, blimey that's looking good. Roughly how big do the plants get?

I've got some of the same ones growing on a trial plot this year, but they haven't done much, and what they have done has been undermined by rabbits.

Hopefully about 2 -2 and a half ft tall come harvest . As it is the first year growing them it is a big learning curve. The taller the better so pods should be higher up the stem they are still dragging moisture but a good rain would really help them as it would everything else .

Do you still need those scarecrows? Looks like it's well beyond any pigeon damage. I thought once the cotyledons were done with the hairy true leaves weren't so tasty.

Seems to be coping very well considering it has only had 19 mm of rain approx. since it was drilled.
Yes a good rain will see it motor on I would think . I am trying to post pictures every weekend to show progress through the season .

Soya update 12/7/2018 . Still looking ok and after the dry weather of very little rain looks like it is still just finding moisture a good rain will do the world of good.
Pods are forming nicely and the flowers don't seem to mind the intense heat . Well it is from hot dry climates so it should like this weather (time will tell mind ) . 37218862_2093292140959326_3575894156087656448_n.jpg 37276696_2093291867626020_8255134727271350272_n.jpg 37091455_2093291717626035_4233253353305407488_n.jpg 37067830_2093291420959398_6110478387522830336_n.jpg 37067830_2093291420959398_6110478387522830336_n.jpg
