My 3220 has stopped suddenly a couple of times recently and been hard to start after. Today it started roaring hard without touching the pedal then died. There was no power in cab turned out it had popped 30amp ignition fuse. Replaced fuse, cranked it over without success, fuse popped again, replaced it, checked diesel system, seemed fine, will fire on ether but not run. Fuse not been a problem since. Placed the diagnostic fuse in to see if there were any codes and it wouldn't even start the diagnostic sequence, which seems to point to a broken wire or dead ecu?? I have had ecu problems before causing starting faults. Eventually the replacement ecu burnt out and led to a new injector pump ?. Any ideas anyone?

We’ve had a similar issue with a 6320 in that it keeps cutting diesel but then revs back up, anyhow on nye it died completely on the tanker and it wouldn’t start again. Came back to it today having left it and it started and ran fine for half an hour. Mind you we had no fuses go and I think it was just fuel related. Strange ?‍♂️

Now Then..
As I recall (I might be wrong here) you should have 12 volts at 2 pins of the ECU, A2 switched live and K1 permanent live. Also, which FNR lever do you have?? I went to a non starter a couple of years ago, the problem was in the connector of the aforementioned FNR lever.
Just out of curiosity,,,, how many hours has it done and what is it overall condition??

Circa 10k hours. Average condition.
I have the updated FNR lever same as tractors with the green N light.

We have a 3220 that for the past 1000 hrs has been a right pain failing to start and konking out , it does seem to me that when they pass 7500 hrs the wiring and connectors start to get a bit sh!t . If it’s turning over on key and failing to start from our experience I would suspect a broken wire or crankshaft sensor. So far on ours we’ve had the wire break going to crank shaft sensor which by the lower pulley on front of engine also this wire rubbed through against chassis check the loom from underneath you will have to start tracing wires and taking loom apart to work out what goes where also check the 2 wires and plug on end of injector pump these come from ECU and control fuel injection timing also bad connection in plug on ECU basically trace and check a lot of wires and clean connectors.

Like Tractortech says check Battery power to K1; ignition power to A2 and ground to J2. Check powers when you crank engine. It can be 12 volts when engine is off but 6-8 volts when crank engine. I have fer times that power was low and can not start telehandler. If you check power when crank on K1 and A2 leads is les than 8-9 volts its not enought power to control solenoid (i think you have pump with solenoid in the middle of injection pump).
Before check did your engine speed dial mowes when you crank, and check pins on fuel pump solenoid. If pins are open they not supply power to solenoid to fire engine.

Filter/gauze on fuel pump in the tank?
