You dont have right to complain, it is your responsiblity to stand up and fight. "Because the life does not give you what you want but it gives you what you deserve !". Keep going when it hurts and left %99 of people behind who give up. "Do not say why the pain?, do not say why me ? Say TRY ME !. When there seems to be no hope of victory, when you dont see the results, hang in there, be strong, be brave, remain disciplined .... and your time will come."
That's good from a motivational angle.
But sometimes I wake up in the morning completely devoid of the will to face anything and faced with torrent of negativity from those nearest and dearest. Everything seems absolutely and utterly hopeless. So much of the machinery is broken down, etc that it's hard to know where to start. But I haven't given up. Just keep pecking away and slowly slowly we get through. Yes new problems add to the list but as long as I have not completely stalled then I think I am doing alright. Refill the bird feeder, reset the mole trap, build up speed gradually. Rome wasn't built in a day. That kind of thing. And appreciate being alive and much more fortunate than many. Don't overthink it and don't always believe that working hard is the solution. Working smart is better.
My long term aim is to keep this farm running profitably and sustainably, to improve it and to leave it better shape than I found it. I am not really driven by money, more by building soil organic matter and using techniques that do as little damage to the environment as possible. We do need to make enough profit to pay the bills though.
I like to keep things as simple as possible and cannot abide complexity or being held over a barrel by other people.
That's it really.

Asked because you sound a bit aimless in the other post and I was going to say "maybe you should determine some aims to add some excitement in your life". Still I have somethings to say lol. You said you want to keep it simple as possible but you also want to improve it, do you not think that things improving have to get complicated as well ?
The only thing that goes wrong at times is complete and absolute loss of motivation to do anything really. I can't explain it, but I can manage it. Generally I just have to let it pass then carry on again. I suppose I get daunted by the size of the task in front of me at times but once I get started I often wonder why I was so worried about it. It is also a sort of laziness I suppose.
We all experience the same loss of motivation, this is our nature, not a psychological disorder, like as day and night. We just need to learn deal with it, need to discover how to motivate ourself back as quickly as possible etc. Focusing on comprehensive aims makes it misty and less attractive, I think, instead we should focus on more specified and concrete aims, not to focus on building the wall but to focus on putting the next brick as perfect as possible.
Yes that's a very constructive way of looking at things. I still think we do need high level general aims to give us general direction. But yes we also need concrete aims on a weekly basis otherwise it is very easy to waste a lot of time pontificating and procrastinating on things.
It's an awful lot easier and more sustainable to manage "complexity" than "complication" in my experienceThose are all very important questions and I am glad that you ask them.
You are right that we have to accept some complexity at times if we are to make progress. However, sometimes if we can keep it simple it is better. Complex systems tend to be more prone to failure in my experience. There is more to go wrong. My business has become too complex. Too many different enterprises and crops create a lot of overhead.
I do have general aims to simplify the business and reduce overheads. The livestock will go eventually and we will concentrate on zero till crops as far as possible.
These aims might not sound very exciting. They have modified as I have got older. Initially I just wanted to drive a bus, then I wanted to be an engineer which I achieved then to return to farming. I am satisfied with my own progress through life really. The only thing that goes wrong at times is complete and absolute loss of motivation to do anything really. Its not me. Its what I am surrounded with. I am bound to feel a bit downcast. I am not clinically depressed or anything like as bad as some folk
