Death of Diesel Cars

Stuck in a rut? That sounds pretty angry.

No, just saying what a lot of other people are probably thinking. Il tolerate most things in life, but someone who brags about money, they deserve nothing in my eyes.

I still fail to see how you can draw a comparison between the average motorist and thier diesel car, and some "progressive" farmer who keeps trying to force his own idealist mantra onto everyone else by shouting it as loud as he can at every opportunity
If you are talking about Clive, I've never heard any bragging about money. I haven't read all his threads but what I have read is enthusiasm for a particular method and the benefits it brings. If you think anyone on a forum can 'force' you to do something then you need to get off the internet, surely. I could shout all day about the brilliant way I raise my pullets, all taken from someone else. I wouldn't be bragging or trying to make money. Suggest you find out what you are actually pee'd off about.

I suggest you go back and re-read post 36 of this thread, particularly the first paragraph....

John, you have a chip on your shoulder the size of Gibraltar - in nearly every thread you comment upon that becomes painfully obvious, I reckon that says more about you than those you rail against..

I wouldnt say i have tbh....say what you like though, its what a forum is for.

however, how would you join the argument for a diesel engined car with that of a direct drill? Come on, you have an answer no doubt

post number is next to the "reply" button
Thank you. He's making a point though. Why get angry about it? As far as I am aware, Clive rents a lot of land.
so do a lot of other people, does that make them any different?

Not getting angry in the slightest, just find it very tedious when yet another thread turns into why we should all "be like clive"

Is it wrong to boast about money?
If you work your butt off and take risks, why shouldnt you boast.
If you are an athelete you can boast about being number one.
Why is money any different?
Isnt it ironic to moan about clive and his business decisions on his... Er... Erm forum?
When the original FW website got boring, i bought a domain name to set up a rival to it. Clive did the same. I didnt bother with mine, Clive however Did!

I feel Clive was putting over his views only in defense of justification of his family car choices he mentioned - needlessly in my opinion, he had no obligation to do so, the views he put over are in no way different to yours in a DB thread, or contracting pricing thread, even using your own flawed logic at the top of this post
"say what you like though, it's what a forum is for" why should Clive not also receive the same diplomatic immunity you or I may enjoy?

In reference your your final point, that's not my answer - that would imply finality, or indeed "smugness", I would merely offer it as my opinion. :)

whilst using it as a vehicle to put across his actual intended point to ridicule anyone who doesnt think no till is going to save the world

its not so much what he said, more the very in-appropriate way he worded it...those who have been involved in the many, lenghty, prolonged and unfinished arguments between "clives way" and most other peoples way" of establishing a crop on will see the relevance to what im actually getting at.

I said family car not my cars ! ;)

Cayenne or Panamera hybrid's do 90 -120 mpg respectively - the diesel or petrol models are not close .......and are slower ! Same for the Hybrid in Landrovers range

add in some tax advantages and hybrid is becoming a bit of a no brainer

A friend of mine swapped his range rover sport for a Tesla. He walked me through the numbers, I can't remember the details; but he has a firm buy back price, does pretty high mileage, and put the car through his limited company (company car benefit for him). I think the savings were well over a grand a month for three years. Seemed a smart decision, until be used his savings to buy a 110 defender for shooting, etc.....
