replaced hydraulic tank seals on the bottom of my jcb 526 other year with new ones, they must be for inspection as its 2 6 inch round plated that are bolted on with big rubber seals,

anyway arse to do as you have to drain tank, replaced them and they were much improved but still wept a tad, now they just leak...

plan on tanking them off and using some gasket sealer with them anyone any top recommendation on a decent sealant

Loctite gasket dressing, will find part number. It's like dark brown treacle stuff. Wipe it on not too thick let it DRY then assemble.

How ever! Alot of them plates use rivet nuts in the tank, ideally they should be blind ones so oil dont leak up the threads! But also there often not crimped in tight enough, take a long bolt put a nut and washer on it, screw bolt in the rivet nut, then hold bolt and tighten the nut down this will pull the rivet nut tighter in the tank.

Manitou ones are always loose in tank and then leak past the rivet then out past the bolt heads.

This is the stuff, i use it on all gaskets, just make sure you spread it thin and let it DRY before assembling or the gasket will slip out the joint.

Its some messy sticky stuff! that works really well and a pot lasts ages and goes a very long way so its dirt cheap.:)
