DEFRA Sheep Census

So DEFRA need us to report how many sheep we have as at 1st Dec. Apparently it’s more important to fill it in this year as it may be used to calculate any financial aid to the sheep sector forthcoming in the event of a no-deal.

But at what time on the 1st December do we need to count?

I sold a load of lambs today so my figure at 6am will be different from my figure at 6pm. Any thoughts?

Yep you are over thinking it.....

Put down what sheep you have on the holding as at 12-01 am this morning!

Hmmmm, I fillled mine out as none for today, cousins fetching some wintering tomorrow so won’t go on his for 1st January, the mystery of the disappearing sheep🐑
That’s going to confuse the bean counters somewhere 😂😂😂

I think the owner is supposed to count them, where they are is irrelevant.
Sorry to spoil the fun illusion.

Deffo NOT voluntary !!!

Says quite clearly in the letter if you don’t fill it out you’ll be most certainly flagged for inspection so think I’ll do it lol... but I read it as I have a month to do it so I’m assuming it will go off what sheep I hold on the day I fill it out?
