I doubt that anyone will make or announce any firm decisions until after the PM’s announcement sometime tomorrow.

Meanwhile, here at Euston today we’re having a lovely charity Classic car and tractor run instead of our usual much larger event.

Bang on...Groundswell is definitely going ahead. We've had endless chats with the elf and safety people, so that we are Tier 3 compliant if the restrictions aren't lifted on the 21st. There's plenty of room so you don't have to bump into other people and you can sit far enough apart in the tents where the talks are taking place and all that kind of thing.

I think it helps that farmers are quite sensible people on the whole and we've got a Government Minister coming to the show. You do wonder sometimes if the people making these decisions have any real understanding of risk?

But won't you have to wear a mask in the tent? Cereals seminar tents are often rammed so that would need severe marshalling.

Also, Cereals is so close to harvest that, relaxation of lockdown or not, many won't want to risk getting ill or even be told to isolate. Though I expect the organisers will still find '28,000 visitors' like they do every year.

The 'ping' to self isolate is the killer. Nice number if a civil servant or work for a large corporation that 'respects and values its staff', self isolation is fully paid time off, and why government ministers think it is just 'so easy' and cannot understand the 'selfish' that ignore self isolation - generally folk who have no employer to fall back on for wages - or have clients they will lose if do not turn up to work. My rant over.
