Deutz Fahr Mp130 netting system

Hi I have a deutz fahr mp130 baler and the netting system is not working right. The netter is very temperamental when you change the tension and I have a rope with me in the tractor. When I pull the rope as hard as it can go and press the button it always takes a few seconds too long to run(this has only happened recently) and if you don’t pull it hard enough the net runs on and the knife will not be activated. Is there some sort of stopper in the netter that is the problem or is it just the tension

If there’s there no rope the net won’t go at all
This only started recently when I didn’t change anything it just wouldn’t go at all

I had one of these for about 10years . Great baler for the era bar the netter. I never in all that time got it to work consistently netting bales particularly lower DM bales . I did find plenty of talc on intake rollers and novatex net gave best results

surely that is a problem with the net drive belt tension, i had one but a long time ago so dont really remember much about it. i rememebr having to adjust the net brake regularly so i removed one of the springs on the bar and fitted two smaller pull springs i could adjust without a spanner.

The roll is definitely on the right way around the actuator moves the black roller spins but it’s not strong enough for the net to get sucked in

The only problem I had with them was a full roll having too much inertia and having to ease the brake off after maybe 80-100 bales.

The belt can wear out and overstretch too obviously.

It’s awhile since I had one too but from what I remember the knife won’t trip til it counts the number of revolutions from the wrap wheel. You can test this by taking off the sensor, running a bale full cycle and tap the sensor with a magnet until it reaches the total and the knife will trip.

Just realised I didn't have an MP130 but an earlier RB130 . The net brake consited on a sprung loaded cover over the net and you had to progressively lower the spring tension as the roll got smaller . Usually ending up with either getting out every bale towards the end of a roll or disgaurding the last inch or so altogether , I imagine the MP130 has a more sophisticated set up
