mrs spins ice cream van got no mot.....just waiting on a low loader to take it to it's new pitch.....2pm eta but guess what... theres a funeral in the village 2pm (we're two doors from church)....SOoo low loader...ice cream van...funeral and me ....what could possibly go wrong #craggy island

friday

manic morning ....low loader booked for 'lunchtime'....mrs spin had barn changeover.....after wednesday i said i'd go hoover......by the time we'd been round ewes....tagged/marked the ewes/lambs for mart tommoz ...and retrieved ewe 412 from neighbours garden...it was 11:15.....i still got hoovered and mopped the floor by 1pm....HH came up to help and they finished 1:45.....the low loader arrived at 2pm and the loading/journey went without incident....thank feck

gotta go back and do some fettlin on it tonight......the perfect way to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary

18 eligible magnet getters so far.......but a 'bonus' magnet for first person to work out what personal 'forum milestone' is coming up...just to torment @robbie really as i know he likes a evening puzzle

I have visions of the ice cream cart 3/4 on the low loader when the winch slips, the van goes shooting off down the road just as they're unloading the bad news bus, pawl bearers go flying and the box and the van continue down the road eventually coming to a stop with the box wedged under the front bumper!!!!!!! And you chasing behind Benny hill fashion!!!!

Or just as they're getting ready to plant it in the ground you accidently hit the button which plays the annoying ice cream van tune!!!!!!
Oh I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

saturday

up at 6am...departed for mart 6:45am.....lovely cool sea fret .......at mart the vegans seemed low on numbers and enthusiasm though they musta done somat 'naughty' whilst i was in mart cos when i came out a 'liason officer' (blue vest) was telling em off waggling his finger

back home SPK had arrived to do some tiling and K 'hoved into port'......not sure where next 2 1/2 hours went TBH.....it was 11:30 by the time i set off for fil's to mow hay

anyhoo i got there and got going....heavy laid crop impeded rapid progress but mustn't complain about that.....weeta stopped by for a chat....didn't mention it direct but defo angling for a magnet......mrs spin was gonna pick me up 3-3:30 cos nowadays i have to fettle admiral at 'bedtime' 4pm....if i'm late she gets worried starts phoning around .....but at 3pm ish inside drum stops cutting......i have look but lotta grass/ hot so i trundle back to yard for some shade....proper look....1 blade gone other 2 jammed round on top saucer...BUT i've lost the bottom saucer on the outside drum....... i'd heard nowt apart from usual bumps/grinds on bunny warrens etc .....were the two connected......that saucer was a bit suspect anyway...just annoying i've got about 3ac to finish....just wondering if ,with some fresh blades, i can limp to a finish tommoz

not quite finished cos admiral + K been feeding an elderly wilt daily on our grazing marsh.....today they found her expiring....they put her in some shade with some water and i said i'll go down later to see how she is

right two bitsa housekeeping 1/ HH getting fed up with ppl thinking she's cinders....i can forgive you a bit cos both arkwright and SPK made same mistake
2/ the magnet distribution might have to be delayed because i'm so alarmed by the 'lack of intelligence' shown by a few ....that....in the interests of safety i may have to draft a set of ' installation + operating instructions'...i've made a start....trouble is it's taken two pages already just on 'places of the body NOT to wedge the magnet'

sunday/monday

run of sh!te continued on from sat.....everything i touch at mo goes wrong

my miracle 'magic box' hay maker died on sunday.....17 yrs service so i suppose i shouldn't complain.....but even so....back to the fekkin haybob

patched up the mower this morning and limped to a finish for now....fil promised to turn some of it this afternoon cept his matbro wouldn't start and was blocking tractor...i spent a few minutes and got her started but feck the starter was in an awkward place

got back to the farm for late lunch then had to do school run cos mrs spin on ice cream van cos HH got a 4 day 'covoid ping' on sat......she's constantly testing and all negative so far thank feck

i always think summer term is killer for kids why the feck they couldn't break up last friday i don't know.....cinders tired and grumpy on way home....few nag duties and she's better now and cooking tea.......boy is one of 8 teachers who took 200 yr7&8s to pleasure wood hills theme park today...he'll be frazzed by time he gets back

dispensary failed to deliver some pills for admiral....shoulda come last thursday....took my 'eye of ball'

trying to get somat outta the day i logged on to rpa and tinkered our 'mixed farming wildlife offer'.....went to submit....'FAIL'....'parcel under agreement....check 'parcel anomalies report'.......so i check....'no parcel anomalies'

only crumb of comfort was gotta mention in mart report....topped ewes/lambs at £85/life.....these were better quality than last time but £7/hd down.....mustn't be churlish i suppose as i was happy at £65-70/life last yr

plan to hitch up the 550 tommoz......@robbie may be on speed dial come thursday......followed by the fire brigade if fekker don't work friday
