Well this is about the most miserable of the bits we farm, it’s a 3 acre corner of the field a few posts ago with the long shadow. It’s mg index is 9.3 (north of 1500ppm) and it’s basically undrillable after the middle of Oct but looks very well. The constant wet is starting to seal a few bit off as it does with these types of clay but very happy overall when added to the earlier photos of the same field.

The pictures above drilled Oct maybe a bit thick but better thick if winter had been a bit rubbish.

Bit of last years skyscraper that needed using up, maybe a little less vigour and 4 days later on Oct make a difference when it’s cold wet clay

nov drilled beans, crows have spent most of winter pulling the heads off them but not too bad, maybe half an acre that’s rubbish in 2 fields but seen they are resprouting which is good.

Will field be irrigated in the near future?
Where will the harvested/ packed broccoli end up ?
When supplying supermarkets do you pack into, "their logoed bags", or is the Broccoli etc packed in supermarket logoed bags nearer point of sale.?
Many thanks for posting ,nice to see some sun shining,(y)(y). (at these bleak times for mankind)

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
