Discount schemes for new pick ups a waste of time?

I believe you can negotiate as much discount
without becoming a member of a farming or sporting organisation .
Over several years this will cost you a fair bit along
with having to wait 6 to 12 months to activate the discount!

Thoughts?

You have to be an NFU member for over 24 months to get a RR discount.

Sometimes you can get extra discount if its old stock they want to shift because of
a change to the model!
The Wildtrak was not an old model last Autumn. However, it won't be long now before the new model with new engines and transmissions is launched. They currently have some limited edition models of the current model to incentivise continued sales.

Thats what i understand
Would have only been one percent better off joining a scheme!
Dont know what scheme but that’s it.walk in customers will get 15/17% depending on negotiations.anglian farmers are on the same rate too.incidentaly I was told af take 92% of hilux trucks sold by norwich dealer.they must sell a lot as nfu vouchers account for a lot too

Some member benefit schemes are different from others. Some are discounts some are money back rebates.

Best to work really hard on getting discount from a dealer, then throw in the other member benefit on top.

If the dealer won’t play, or the member benefit doesn’t work like that, try elsewhere!

I believe if you buy a Toyota vehicle here the price is the price they don't haggle and don't actually employ 'salespeople' (I forget the term they use now) A chap that buys a lot of them told me there was some kind of discount scheme you could qualify for but I think its based on how good a customer you are.
Not sure how (if) its still working.

The discount vouchers are real and well worth having if you are in a position to get one.

With the ranger I managed 23% discount in total thanks to the NFU discount scheme. And dealer discount.

Try walking into a dealer on your own to buy a single vehicle and matching that without a discount voucher of some description.

You won’t do it.

A dealer told me a few years back he could do better on a ford Kuga than if I used a discount voucher. He was genuinely shocked when I showed him some figures which proved he was thousands off the mark. Once he applied said discount voucher his figures matched mine.

Some Ford dealers will apparently add the standard discount to the normal discount to give a massive discount of around 22%. Someone copied an invoice to this place to prove it. I was surprised, as I did not believe they did that, but they did, including on all Ford accessories. The Ranger Wildtrak was discounted to around £22k if I remember correctly, including tow hitch etc.
Yes you are totally correct as it was me that posted the details.

18 per cent without a voucher on a hilux
How much is two years subscription to the NFU?
Then you have to wait to qualify.

Cant see the point myself:scratchhead:

See above. Same discount from CLA from first day of membership and at a fraction of the cost.

Depends what your CLA membership costs?
A lot of the schemes are an initial amount and so much per acre thereafter!
What can you get off a Hilux being a CLA member?

CLA is not acre dependant. I got 18% plus a few upgrades to take it from an invincible to an invincible plus for not much more.

You still liking your truck?
I got 18% and couple of small items thrown in but
will admit it was a far better deal than last autumn so
perhaps Brexit has made them think.

We looked at a Toyota ute last year, their selling strategy is about how you describe it. The strategy sounds ok and is possibly taken from Apple who have sold that way for years, not sure how successful it is for Toyota, we ended up buying a Holden Colorado.

Yes. It’s a nice place to be and drive and it tows well. Standard tyres are crap but I have a limited use Nissan for mostly off road stuff with proper tyres.

No real issues if 20k of driving.

It did a run to the Alps and back skiing at less than 3 months old and was fantastic.
