Where you based? We will try it next year. Have the swather.Yes ive always wanted to, there are no swathers around here though, not that i know of anyway that could cut it for us. Small acerage wouldnt warrant buying one either or a draper header to pick them up .
Otherwise i would havd a go.
When we ran a shelbourne mentor swather 20 yrs ago, we swathed peas in front of forage harvester for whole crop as the direct cut headers on the foragers were not as good then as they are now,Where you based? We will try it next year. Have the swather.
I have swathed organic peasI think it would need a swather that leaves a wide swath, so that when swath gets wet the swath would hopefully dry quicker than a narrow dense one, which could be a real
problem in a wet season.
I wonder if their is a swather made as above in North America or other country?

Approx 200 or so miles from BucksWhere you based? We will try it next year. Have the swather.
I wont be popping in then. Portsmouth is our limit.Approx 200 or so miles from Bucks
I have grown Barley and Beans which worked out good, i tried Oats and Peas but the Oats dominated the Peas too much and shaded them out. Also Peas and Spring oilseed rape......which helped keep the peas off the ground. I have swathed Winter Beans......just because the swather was parked up here for a while and we had big losses at swathing and also high losses when picking up the swath.Slightly off topic. I have seen an interesting article on the "Agricology" website about growing Barley and Peas together. The foreign video mentioned about growing barley and peas together is worth a watch,is there way to translate the video to English.

The German video mentioned in the appendix of the article on Growing Peas with Compainion Crops, shows the Peas/Barley mix being combined, and further on in the video being separated ( cleaner or gravity separator??), also the guy shows a sample of the separated peas and barley. If only I spoke German to learn more from the videoWas that for combining or silage?
