This afternoon my wife and I were waiting for a daughter to arrive in a car park. We were both on phones both with O2 contracts. How does my wife's rubbish Nokia windows phone get 4g and at the same time my s5 not. Before you suggest it I did check and it was turned on and we do have 4 g contracts.

I get 4G if I am in Manchester or Liverpool ie. big cities.
In Australia where I tend to be well away from habitation never mind cities, it is unusual not to get 4G.
iPhone 5S

Doesn't seem any quicker to me anyway.

Remember that first time nobody could get an O2 signal?
I had nothing and my mate sat beside me in the car who was also with O2 had full signal.
No reasoning to it.

I find Three very good. My advice would be to get a PAYG sim and find whatever one is best for you.

That's the plan. Not very long ago o2 was the only network worth considering here but the others have invested in the area and there does seem to be some competition. we are not helped by having the army as our neighbours, very few masts on Salisbury Plain does not help reception.

Same here regarding O2. Was with them for many years, weren't they called Cellnet back then?
After they had that day of no signal they never recovered it seems. Signal is very poor and unreliable. Three isn't perfect but it suits me, it means I almost always have internet.

Biggest help is a Three mast on one of our farms, can be miles away and still see it. 12meg internet if I can see it, even 5 miles away.

To get simple 2G, I have to go outside and stand in a certain spot. I get a message "no signal available" over most of the farm. Only EE here, all the rest admit they do not cover this area. "Broadband" is usually less than 0.5mg, which technically is not broadband.
So why do I get calls all the time, mostly from BT, offering me Superfast broadband? I always say Yes, I will have that, and then they check my line and sort of go quiet....
