That’s why these big chicken units get tractors to do the work! More cost effective! Which similar to Digestate tanking I think they are starting to clamp down on it as it is classed as haulage
cleaning out poultry house’s is no different then cleaning out cow sheds. But you have to do the complete job ,
Clean out ,Haul it away and spread it ,then it not haulage. They are not clamping down if you do the job right.
Ps we run lorries aswell.

Emails are great when contacting a dealer for the first time about something, I can tell them who I am where I’m from and what I want to buy. And give them my fone number, always include full trading details phone number and description of what I’m after in an email. Pointless giving anything less.

when/jf they ring me back half the work has been done and were all on the same hymn sheet.

Also... Back when we bought our maxxum off of pryces we dealt with a chap called Jon Kittow. Nice chap, very helpful. I know he dropped in a couple of times to make sure we were getting on well with it etc etc a few months after it was delivered. Was hoping to deal with him again but couldn't see any sign of him working at pryces wandered if anyone knew what became of him?

Not had a salesman drop in since and that was 4 years back... I know we may not be the biggest players in the area but I do plan on expanding, and it does happen that I have a fair bit of machinery that is wearing out and needs replacing. You'd think the salesmen would be very keen to get that business but they dont seem to be fighting over it...
Same here wondered what happened to him, nice chap!

I dealt with you once…..
What did we buy off you ?

Meanwhile we're still waiting on the JCB deal.

We've just ordered a bucket from Murray Machinery, I rung them up with an initial enquiry, they emailed back the spec of the bucket, I called them back saying yes please we'd have it.
We then confirmed the order by email and it should be with us before Christmas.
No messing.

It’s the same in cars though, my sister has just traded her Volvo xc90 T8 for another one and they told her she couldn’t pick it up on a weekend. Had to come in the week. She said it’s the most expensive car Volvo make so I am picking it up when I want on a weekend or you can shove it. 🤣🤦‍♂️
Try that with Merc and she'd be walking, or at least that's how it was....

She couldn’t even get them to unlock the cars in the showroom for her at merc so she just walked out.

to be honest if Volvo had carried on then should would have walked and found something else. When you are spending 85k plus on a car you expect a bit of service and the reps to give a sh!t

Our local reps are all trying hard accommodating keep in contact but all I can think is they are far too expensive. Struggling to make the numbers work my end .
I can’t be the only one fairly deflated with the job at the min .

The quickest salesman I ever dealt with was Charlie oakhill when he worked for holt Jcb .
Came out to see the fastrac I was swapping in for new one .
He took it for a test drive, when he came back, we walked in the house, had a cup of tea ,and the purchase was done before we finished the cup of tea.
He said once the cheque had cleared, the tractor will be with you.
We had the first 100 hr service done within six days of it coming here ,and we sold it again that year with 5500 hrs there about’s on it. And we did the deal again he said they was the quickest sales he’s ever done to me.
Yes I think so
Hey still selling Machinery buy semi retired now, working for my Son at Iron and Earth Equipment, mainly involved in New Lithium-Ion Forklifts, although the Company is known more for Used Plant and Solis compact Tractors. I have hadca few Fastrac deals dine very quickly so intrigued to know who this one was, also writing a book about Fastrac developments.

Hi Charlie-O
Nice to now ,you are still selling machinery,
I still reminisce over the quick purchases, we used to do with you, we both knew where the price had to be ,for both of us to be happy.
None of this running back-and-forth, back to sales department to see if the price is ok.
would be interested in purchasing one of your books on the development of the fastrac.
In the end I was running a large fleet of fastrac’s and I had few contractors sub contracting to us.
From the poultry side of the business ,we also moved into agricultural contracting work, and in 2014 the business was purchased from us in a acquisition from another agricultural supply business.
