Drainage experts , how to find?

Second post , was looking for land for sale, now acquired old railway goods yard.

Place has been derelict for 10+ years and land drainage and roof drains from goods shed roof have blocked and disappeared below undergrowth.

No plans still exist for original drain layout, built 1860s, what was working appears to have passed beyond living memory.

What sort of expert am I looking for to either trace /repair existing, advise on digging new drainage?

Any recommendations on stone masons sympathetic to 1860`s railway buildings gratefully received as well.

West Lothian , Scotland.

Thanks
Adam

Local drainage contractor will be your best bet. Look up LDCA website for your local member.
Bit far for me unless I tie it in with a holiday which isn't gonna happen this time of year I'm afraid

Asvabove, get a mini digger in and dig 90 degrees to suspected runs.

Unless they are new don't faff about unblocking. We get a lot more storms than we used too, old drains struggle.

Ah, the LCDA website could do with an update, Meiklem are now part of James Penman Hire, Glendinning also look like the big boys.

Local to me appears to be Land & Utility Ltd but still have fear of thinking `already bought the land` when looking at quotes :-/

Average navvy would apparently shift 20 tons a day. 1868 Caledonian Railway put this one in, some of the plans have survived, the National Archive in Edinburgh are very helpful people, including the hand coloured drawing of the goods shed every dimension and detail on a single drawing, most of which still survives. But not a dot indicating where they serviced it, darn. Being hillside sure they did originally.

Have an open ditch that serviced the beast loading ramp still exstant but is clogged

In reality going to have to put in klargester or similar in as well at some point, theory is have a nice 300` soakaway 2` deep in ballast, rails long lifted that end,, Network Rail can be tricky neighbours at times though.

Looks like it`s going to Tony Robinson time with a digger, have an experienced driver, anyone rent a machine West Lothian area ?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
