Drill chuck

How to fit new chuck to my milwauke 18v battery drill, is the bolt inside the bottom of the chuck left hand thread? what screwdriver bit fits it? anyone know?

Bolt will be left hand thread.
Usually a Torx head, T20 rings a bell

Disappointed that Milwaukee chuck has gone, what is nature of the failure? Makita certainly don't grip too well.

Think the screw is lefthanded but the chuck will still be tight. I had to clamp an Allen key socket in mine and use an impact gun.

Have to get stilsons on to undo chuck.

Got chuck off, philips no3 to undo screw,
Big allen key in chuck,drill clamped in soft jaws long pipe on allen key, (big hammer did not work + seemed a bit of a rough way to slacken it)

Mine has gone as well
Stopped gripping and started locking, sometimes needs a set of grips to get it loose

a very expensive genuine Milwauke 1/2 x 20 . FIXTEC keyless chuck from Power Tool Centre. next time I will get the half priced spurious make.

The torx bolt is done with loctite which will only undo if it is heated - which you can't do. I had to have a 3/4 impact gun on the impact rated torx bit to get it out after I had cut the old chuck apart with an angle grinder.

Mine (with a replacement Milwaukee chuck) has just started not gripping again

The bolt down the middle of mine came out quite easy,good fit ph3 turned left hand thread with a spanner, replace ment came with just flat screwdriver slot.
