Plants are there, drilled last week in August first week in September. Had N and a drink but it certainly isn't thriving. Even the volunteer rape has been slow this year :(

Got 20 odd acres to re drill tomorrow, went in 3 weeks ago. It was Barbados, conventional and has been slow to emerge in other fields. Dodgey seed or flea beetle??? I know what the seed merchant will say! Trinity drilled a week earlier looking well. Home saved Quartz the last drilled, coming well at the moment. All had at least 2 insecticides.

Nothing revolutionary, one of at least two foliar feeds that have effects. Add to that N that @Clive refers to and there are a number of methods and very effective timings. Just like the CSFB control, no label recs but when you have 500 acres of Osr in Royston area where there was none last year that gives the clue that more than myself thinks it works.
Sell tonnes so not a small area product. My avatar.

Yes. Not bad but every acre of rape had and needed a dose of pellets post drilling. Strip tilled crops needed 3 - 4 doses but min tilled only needed one if that.

Less tillage = less mechanical destruction of slug eggs. I'm sure the no tillers will jump on this & state that long term the soil biology will cause slugs to decline but in the mean time it's a perfect storm of slug risk with trash levels, loosened soil & feeding the slugs freshly growing osr.

All osr has been pelleted at rolling after baiting seedbeds prior to drilling, the first drillings on 18/8 and 20/8 needed a follow up due to August's rain but everything since has been held with one dose ( untrendy mintill here )
Dariot drilled 18/8 up and away now @hybrid vigour.
