Just a quick done driving through the Peak District today on way to Alton towers after visiting family in Sheffield. Been lovely to see some fine looking amazing animals grazing in picturesque stone walled paddocks. With tidy farms and buildings to go along side! Credit to all farmers and workers involved makes me proud to be British.

It’s always great to see other parts of the country especially seeing well farmed areas!
I’m driving to near Dover today and then back up to legoland with the kids so hopefully see some good/well farmed stock and areas!
The beautiful British countryside is wasted on townies with no interest in it mind (n):(

Havnt seen much livestock apart from 1 massive bunch of store lambs by Swindon.
Some seriously impressive crops growing along the M4 with tramlines on RTK it’s a good sight!

You obviously came through our village then (y)

Hope you enjoyed Alton Towers. You will have noted on your journey that the best bits of Derbyshire are in Staffordshire ;)

There’s a few nice dairy farms in a row inside the M25 on the Surrey/Kent border. Did you see them? One of them I think was a former FW farmer of the year. I went to an open day there a few years ago. A lovely farm, despite London basically starting over the brow of the hill!

It was dark when we were passing terminal 5. Been down to Hastings today, saw a lot of short/dry grass and can’t believe how little it’s grown - hardly surprising though with the lack of rain!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
