Have my mind just about made up to buy a dji mavic mini to help promote my business (tree moving would look well from a drone) with a few shots, plus i can do aerial surveys of trees with it.

Ill probably buy a second hand pc (not a laptop) to edit etc.
I know videos are big files so could anyone recommend the type of spec i need. The computer guy i deal with is dead on, but id rather have my homework done.

I'd go for 16GB of ram at least and a good video card. That said, most good laptops have that these days. Solid state Drive (SSD) is the thing that seems to make my computer and laptop run like the wind compared to olden days. So. I'd spec them too.

I use imovie as it came free with the mac. Get on ok with it.

Was told by our insurance man if the drone is for business you need aviation insurance. No idea on cost but mine is just a toy for myself.

iMovie is pretty good. I started with Final Cut Pro 4, then FCP7, now FCPX (which I am struggling with!) but my first video sold well and got good reviews with cuts only and no special effects. You really don't need anything fancy. It is far more important to keep it interesting. Watch the adverts and time the cuts. It's surprising how short some shots are. Go to the library and get a stack of books on editing and have a browse. Then do it.

the graphics card is the most important part if you are going to do much movie editing

gets a good game spec card, SSD and plenty RAM

i actually find an ipad pro the easiest and quickest thing to edit on with imovie

If the ipad is a good way to go, it might solve two issues as the remote control needs a phone; and i thought an ipad might be better.

I have a tight budget to begin; but i can upgrade once work picks up momentum.

Is anyone using a mini mavic or rather a mavic mini!??
