But Im sure I'm right in saying that 1976 was the longest drought so far in all our history

Because farms did not overstock and 80 cows was a big heard
With the NFU straw lift we all managed i believe

Flipping nightmare trying to get silage in.

Ended up silaging Royal Welsh week and those who took a chance and went to the show missed the boat as the weather broke again.

It just seemed to rain every day.

2012 did not start with a drought here. Jan, Feb and March - 62mm, April 113, May 68mm
fb June 121, July 77 and only 37 in August.

This year certainly didn't start with a drought

2017 did and was almost as wet a summer as 2012.
Was 11th wettest summer on record.
That one all went wrong when the bbc finally woke up to it around mid June and started reporting on what we all knew for weeks
