yes, not far off for 6 months, 560mm average here. That would be about half our expected 550mm rainfall for the year then.

basterward moaning farmersCan this thread be permanently deleted and anyone who moaned about the lack of rain apologise?
HJ when we are now talking about yields of all crops in the drier areas we have very short memories, we were in a drought situation then it rained in the middle of May the damage was done!!Can you remember when we were measuring .5 mm praying for another 1mm.
Now if it's less than half " it's not worth recording.
14mm last night here.
Like I said earlier in this thread, the British farmer is never so well off than when he is praying for rain and don't get none.HJ when we are now talking about yields of all crops in the drier areas we have very short memories, we were in a drought situation then it rained in the middle of May the damage was done!!
That definitely depends on how heavy and deep that particular British farmers soils are!Like I said earlier in this thread, the British farmer is never so well off than when he is praying for rain and don't get none.
I would have preferred it in May when we were asking for it.Every year we get some tool asking for rain. They should be roundly birched. I hope they are happy now.
No I am not f**king happy. In April I needed it. In May I was desperate for it. In June I needed it again. July was fine. August I did NOT want it. You try farming crappy land instead of your heavy clay you are always moaning about. I bet you wouldn't swap.Every year we get some tool asking for rain. They should be roundly birched. I hope they are happy now.
Yes, it's dry. Not worried yet - just dont want it to avergae out by raining all June, July, August and September.
Actually it is a bit tongue in cheek. It used to be one of the sayings of an old farmer in the village. That definitely depends on how heavy and deep that particular British farmers soils are!

Like his brother, the tool complaining it's too hot.Every year we get some tool asking for rain. They should be roundly birched. I hope they are happy now.
