I was only 6 in 1976 so can't really remember much farming wise . Someone once told me that you make nothing in a wet year with big crops like you would in a drought year with half saw much.
A lot of wheat down here is over a foot tall! And yes desperate for rain to wash in fert.had a nice shower of rain last night, none forecast the next 10 days though, for those with fert sitting on top of wheat ground should you not try rolling it?

You may be happy to roll foot tall wheat that is starting to extend but I'm not. Anyway all you'd do to the fert is press it a bit into dust in soft patches or rattle over it in the hard cracked areas....too long to roll then?

really ive never used it, surely the fact it can be put on in a drought is the main reason for having it other than less storage needed?Liquid fertiliser would scorch terribly in these conditions with the crops as stressed as they are
