We live in one of the driest areas of GB which is somewhat incongruous as we are in a country that everyone associates with rain.
Annual rainfall is only about 24" and we always seem to miss westerly rain bearing fronts. Land here is desperately in need of some steady rain but little seems forecast for the next few weeks.
There is a local Welsh saying here that states "Unwaith mae'n methu, wnaeth o fyth glawio" meaning that once we miss the rain it will never rain. Such is the scenario here at the moment.

2mm here yesterday. Putting last of fert on in hope of some rain. Still chance over weekend but really need a good soaking rather than these 1mm showers.
Irrigators still going locally on wheat for those who can. Strange season as some of those fields were being irrigated late October to get the wheat to grow in the first place.
