Dual wheels or bigger tyres?

Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice?
For drilling we hire the drill and tractor from a neigbour who we share abit of other kit with. Tis a 3m combi, tractor is on 520/70/38s at moment however he's been thinking of altering tyre setup. Were discussing it other day but couldnt decide what was best.
Go up to 600 tyres, doesnt want to go bigger as will make tractor too much higher. Would require new rims tho.

Or fit duals to existing wheels. Perhaps slightly harder work but much cheaper, and better for in field work
Thanks for any help

Hanging duels on will possibly be wider than the 3mtr ,could end up leaving a tread mark every drill breed that will out side the working width ,I know when we used 18.9x 38 with duels ,they were only just inside a 4mtr power harrow

Aye would have to set the wheels in to 64 inch track width to make it fit.

Narrower duals would work but he allready has a set of duals that fit, so doesnt really want to buy another set.
Similar with much bigger tyres would need all new rims and centres

Aside from duals being undoubtedly more hassle to manage, which of the alternatives: Duals, 650 (or wider) radials, cross-ply terras, actually do the best job of actually keeping a tractor afloat in poor conditions? I suppose would be a question to start from.

cut the band on the duals to make them fit closer to tractor. Should be able to get under 3m with 520 70 38's....just.
We had cut down 18.9-85-38 duals on 520-70-38. They were just over 3m on 72" centres. Tyres rubbed though as bands were cut too short.

Now run 620-42s. on a different tractor.

I run 16.9/38 stock duels on 520 x38 dont leave a line
Realy like em easy to put on take off
Drill with em then do
pre-em spray with em on and spring fert and sprays
top job far more rubber on ground than large tyre
Have an old four wheel press on front arms so the Whhole 3mt gets rolled in before drill
