Sounds like they're getting blamed for cattle farting emissions. Or maybe they're sick of the EU..... ( whistling emoji type thing )

Allegedly kicking off in Belgium too?

Demanding respect and an end to the demonisation of agriculture for all the ills of the world.

When do we start here?
Is this the wake up call to arms for uk farmers to get off their backsides and do something together for once.Don’t wait for nfu it’s all talk with them and little understanding of family farms

A number of us on here went to a local abbatoir rally to try to stop them being closed. Was well supported by farmers , local traders , bar and hotel owners.
Some drove over 50 miles to be there.
You could tell we were in France.

There are similar conclusions occurring in France, that the real problem is intensive pig and poultry production rather than red meat. Particularly as they are also the main consumers of imported Soya.

Best not to blame each other. Intensive pigs and poultry could come back with the counter argument that their stock converts feed far better than extensive.
We should stand together in this.

It's not about the blame game. It's about identifying the real problems and then looking at ways mitigate them. The Belgians for example have a problem with Dutch farmers coming over the border and illegally dumping muck to get round their strict phosphate rules, were as I am sure there are lots of arable areas in northern France would cry out for it.

farmers should give their subsidies back if they feel strongly enough to protest like this.
The subsidies have given rich large landowners a dividend and the rest of farming have been used to grow food below a living wage and cost of production. No 2 farms are alike and if you have been lucky enough to own a farm with no borrowing don’t condemn those who are not so lucky.Food is too cheap, piece of beef £5 but they spend £15 on a bottle of wine. The public are totally misled over the real cost of food

The bank owns our farm and the rest of the land we farm is rented and contracted farmed.
