The scammers aren't just selling.
2 years ago I put on an old camper van value £1500 ish in my mind.
After a few general bids there was 2 bids on it that took it to 4k (1st time bidders)
As a result the genuine interest was priced out and i was unable to contact them. eBay charged the commission as it had seemingly sold in their eyes.
The scammers were more than likely selling other vehicles but just wanted mine out of reach to the genuine buyer.
I've given up with eBay now. When i tried to report it they just said the problem was mine, not theirs.

i dont think thats good enough, ebay should bear some sort of responsibility to the adverts, products being sold, or legislation by our govt should be brought in , ive was in the retail business from the late 1970s to early 2000s, before internet selling really took off? then the consumer had the backing in law of weights and measures, trading standards etc etc and my family business we saw the trading standards and weights and measures a few times ? now yes we all buy off the internet me included product from all over the world buying from people and firms we trust to exist because we never see them in person but its now open for conterfit products or dangerous products that you consume or use that dont reach or conform to our countries standards?

You keep an eye on payment, if not paid within time allowance, report to eBay, selling fees are then cancelled.
like any form of transaction, you have to be on the ball,

Fair enough. But it's all hassle that we don't need and eBay just carry on.
It's up to us to do all the leg work, meanwhile the money is in eBay's account, and the genuine buyers cannot be contacted.
eBay win no matter what.
Which is why I don't use it anymore

Running a business is hassle, it’s up to you to manage it,
eBay only win on conclusion of sale,
If it was easy, Everyone would be doing it , !!
Absolutely!
But I am not talking about running a business on eBay. I was there as a genuine seller, a customer of eBay, and ebay is the business.
There are surely some morals and ethics that should be followed by all (ebay included) otherwise you just get an ever growing network of the type trading scams that eBay seems happy to accept.

Confused,
Your selling something, I presume Business related, so part of your business, even private, keep an eye on the transaction,
eBay is just a selling portal,
Online Farmads just the same, I kept telling them about scam adverts, and now the transaction with them is phone only, no email.
On the whole I understand peoples problems with eBay, but have made many global contacts, whom now come direct for ongoing business.

If you had not received payment you would not have paid had you opened a dispute.
I did get caught for fees on an old car sold before Christmas one year. Lady asked to collect after Christmas. Then moved to after New Year. Then suddenly she did not want is and I was too late to stop the ebay process.
