William Hague was on the case in yesterdays The Times. Looks as though in a few years we will all be walking in the woods hunting and a gathering whatever food we can find.

Planting trees is a policy we have to get right

Reforestation has given me a welcome escape from Westminster but it is increasingly becoming a crucial political issue

Utterly banal music + lyrics to the point of being terminal mind-crap, plus he's ginger...; but, if he has the money and want's to spend it on that, fair enough, it's his money.

Whereas the trendier than thou politicos or 'activists' wanting pubic money directed at it can f^ck off...

(And I'm on the record as a green-type who is pro re-wilding as far as possible. :))

Would William Hague fall into trendier than now politico?

It's all about appearing to say or actually saying the right thing isn't it?
A bit like the link on the local Facebook page near here where a few locals were complaining that the carbon neutral Mucky Doos that's just opened, with its small turbine that hardly anyone's seen spinning?
Hasn't stopped the build up of shyte bags and cups all up the local verges!

I suppose their response is that they're carbon-neutral shyte bags & cups, which are also biodegradable...

A new McDonalds is being built at Sancler on the A40, the local presumption is that everywhere within a given radius will now see a rain of shyte bags and cups on the local verges.

I am minded to suggest to McDonalds that anyone bringing in a recycle bag full of their (i.e. McDonalds') refuse should be given a meal of his choice, this might encourage them to send a car around to pick up stuff or local kids to do it, maybe...

Super post. My experience is you will find the local verges become a repository for all manner of McDonalds waste. You are just the person to pen a missive to McDonalds with your suggestion. Best to you. H

Yes. I appreciate and knew they are biodegradable.
Perhaps being an old git makes me not appreciate their culinary skills.
Seems most young uns love the stuff

Mind you, I like chip shops

I couldnt help but wonder what will happen to all the people queueing for miles at MaccyDs during the lockdown if the virus got so bad that these fast food establishments all had to close! Im presuming most of their customers cant or wont cook, and therefore will all starve too death when something much more nasty than Omnicrommon Cold inevitably shows up.

I think the word to pick out of that sentence is 'trying' , it appears to mean actively pursuing but probably not, it is like a social media smokescreen to say all the right words to appease everyone , but effectively nothing happens! If he was serious he would have engaged with an agent in the first instance who would have circulated all his details to all the land agents in the country, who would be rubbing their hands together with glee. All the time going under the radar, to not big up the price unnecessarily. However it does acknowledge his massive carbon footprint from his travelling etc.

I never thought I’d see McD’s shut, but it did in the first lockdown. I couldn’t believe it when the people managed without it. They are making up for it now though! A new one just been built at Newmarket, there’s one at Mildenhall and Ely too. I think they’ll over saturate it TBH.
