Egg shell

Any1 using egg shells as a soil conditioner any results or your opinion would be appreciated

A long time ago I knew a chap in Zim who's brother in law was the boss of a large food manufacturing plant in Harare. Said chap got very large amounts of egg-shells free of charge and used them on his lands, lime was relatively expensive there and then so it was a good thing for him.

From memory, he put them in a pan mixer with, I think, some tyres and then spread it as you would fert.. Tobacco likes slightly things slightly alkaline and his soil tended to be fairly acidic, his leaf looked good so I guess it works.

Ok i bought a few ton of a local guy spreading bits with my wagtail so just wondered did anyone have experience of it

heard a man locally doing ti this year but no results yet.

A quick Google suggests plenty of calcium carbonate and a traces of a few useful elements. I'd certainly bang a heap on my farm given the chance.
