........and the only meltdown in the face of leaving the EU on WTO terms is parliament.

I'd of thought the country would of come to a standstill by now, before it jumps over that cliff?

Why has it not?

I do not agree that it is sluggish at all, I work part time off farm, for a pre-cast concrete company that employs 100+ people. We have seen our busiest start to a year since 2012 and see no obvious signs of a slowdown.
The vast majority of these small/medium size businesses are getting on with their daily work, providing employment, paying taxes and adding value to the country.

But all the commentators I hear on news programmes say that No Deal is off the table. Are they wrong? I am much confused as I presumed No Deal was default position - and several of you on here seem convinced. But these commentators seem to say no. Hey ho, no problem as I will find out week Saturday one way or the other.

If the EU reject the application to delay article 50 for even 3 months then there are only three options open to the Government.

1 Revoke article 50
2 Leave and trade under WTO rules.
3 Get MP's to sign May's deal.

1 is very very unlikely to happen
2 and 3 would be 50/50, could go either way.

Sounds like whatever is going to happen it will go down to the 11th hour on 29'th March

A lot of talk on FB today that UK truckers are planning to blockade all major UK motorways this Sat to send a message to the government that we should leave on the 29th March even if that means no deal.

Not sure if it will come to anything imo.

let me get this straight. They're protesting FOR a No-Deal and that protest involves simulating the absolute chaos and blockages that a No Deal would entail, have I got that right?

I assume the commentators are wrong. But they do seem so assured that No Deal will not happen. But then they got June 2016 wrong. Anyway off to see a band now - and as is my usual policy a large Donner Kebab after - just to show solidarity with the UK sheep farmer.

I think its the tip of the iceberg if Brexit isn't delivered sooner rather than later.

People regardless of being leave or remain voters have lost all faith in the government/ MP's of all party's etc and now just want them to get on and deliver brexit asap.

Another 3 months just adds to the uncertainty and its clear that May is trying to get her deal thru in this extra time, trouble is if she doesn't then we will be in the same situation in 90 days time as we are today.

Merkel has said today that she is intent on working out a deal right upto and including the 11th hour on 29th of March, which shows the chances are that nothing will be sorted until late that evening just before we are due to leave the EU.

Article 50 wont be revoked.

If she extends for 2 years then she will have open warfare in her party and will not be able to get anything non brexit thru parliament so if she extends for 2 years she will have no choice but call a GE and the Con party will be hammered and will lose a lot of seats.
