What is the average lifespan of an electric fencer , I had mine turned off for the winter and now I think there's very little power in it . It is at least 20 yrs old , is it time for a new one .

We've got one that was over 40 years old that died on us last year. You can get them repaired/ reconditioned but at that age I thought mine was uneconomical. Yours should have another 20 years by my reckoning. Replace all the wires and see if it improves. I think @neilo knows a good place you can send them to get them reconditioned if you're interested. If we ask him nicely he might post...

They usually get nicked before they die so average lifespan is difficult to work out!

Sorry, not me. I used to take Rutland ones to Stow Ag, where they carried an extensive stock of spares parts at one time, but IIRC even they were sending them off latterly.:(

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
