Anybody got any recent renewal prices or company’s worth approaching for renewal. Just got renewal letter 26p day 20p night on half hour metering. Looks like a 60 percent increase ☹️??
Thanks for any prices or pointers

So that price is with notice? o_O
It's my job this week. Got a few prices 6 weeks ago around 14p day and 10p night. Will follow this thread ?

Be careful that you are not being quoted for electricity alone. You may get a nasty surprise if they haven’t added in the green levy and a few other levies that can stick another 2p/kWh on the bill

The wife told 1 person in YPG to go forth and multiply, now only 1 woman who’s the line manager phones and emails for readings, the rest didn’t know about business accounts and different rates and the fact that 1 person can have 8 metres :banghead:

Bloody hell they must have transferred from SP and BG!

Our discussions group had an afternoon with Chris Brooks regarding electricity use on farm.
If I remember correctly, I'm sure he said there are 170 different company's that Are licenced electricity providers in this country, so it's worth phoneing around.
Unfortunately I left it a bit late, and struggled to get a decent Price, got a two year fixed deal through a broker last year.
Got a cheaper price through the broker than going direct, even after he got his cut of the deal.
We were also told to be carefull with brokers, as you weren't always getting the best deal for yourself, but the best deal for the brokers commission from the supplying company.

Beware the brokers that phone after you have been on go compare & the like.
Against my better judgement I went with one of these.
Claimed to deal with everything -
Failed to advise BG we were leaving at the end of the contract
Failed to advise EDF of the correct start date
When I became aware of problems I emailed them to get them to sort it out -
No reply
Ended up having to contact BG & EDF myself to sort things out

Make a few phone calls yourself.

Good advice above, the internet brokers just want to sign you up fast and move on.
If you have a local one different story. Mine wasn't anywhere near competitive this time for some reason though so did a couple hours on the phone myself.

Switched a month ago, 22p standing, 14p day, 10p night.
Across 3 meters.

It ought to be cheap at the moment. I suspect some others on here who are generators , I had a letter the other day offering me a payment to turn my solar off, as there is currently too much power in the system.

"Bob" did that for me last year.Luckily just a one year job. The balls up was the DD discount of 0.7p. It makes a difference.
