£100 subsidy announced for all homes not connected to mains gas network, should include most on here. Not a lot but every little helps and there may be another payment announced further into the winter. Details on how and when payment is made still to be announced.

Presumably for those that use gas & have a gas tank in their garden?

Found out this am , the wholesale leccy is determined by the most inefficient generator in the country .... wtf

37 And 40 is less i dont follow...sorry
My contract isn’t up till next May so this was a company pitching cover. Wasn’t comfortable with them or the 36 months. If electricity at these rates is the new normal serious renewable’s/ generating our own will takeover. The world will be totally different next spring I’d guess.

For what its worth i'm looking at various lengths of contracts but heavily favouring the 12 month terms. Where we are now can't carry on indefinitley - it'll either have to drop or like you say we'll make our own.

How does that work with these new government cap etc. That's 3x what I was paying upto end of August and nearly X2 as much as iv agreed on a 36month contact.

I'm really surprised about how quiet the whole business energy cap thing has gone. There is no meaningful information that I can find with real world figures.

I've got 2 contracts, one at 48p / unit and the other at 62p / unit, both agreed within the past 3 months and I've no idea what affect the price cap will have.

No idea!

As it turns out we've been automatically rolled on to EDF tariff which is a damn sight better than I was quoted above so I've left it.

The house is due in Janaury. I had some prices for that today but they weren't anything special neither so I'll deal with it in 6 weeks or so.

Have an empty property that trying to sell at the mo.
Only leccy and gas usage is minimal plus standing charge.
Been credited with first £66 from gov. They said I can now reduce dd to £1 a month! 😅

Remember you heard it here first - Vote TRUSS TRUSS TRUSS, that's TRUSS!

They just keep giving! Now, what can they do on Council Tax?

I talked to Octopus at the beginning of the week , they couldn't give me much clue as to how the system will work or what the government wholesale rate equates to in real terms , but he did think it would end up being higher than the .34p per unit cap on domestic. I was told that all the info from govt. wasn't in place but it will be coming during October and I should be getting an email with the new prices for the 6 month govt. subsidised rates by the end of October.

I had a broker on the phone yesterday quoting 60p and £1.89/day for next July for one year. Said to sign up as heading to £1/unit. Also said the business price cap is rubbish. Apparently 21p equates to 70p + by the time it gets to us,and only for 6 months.
