Is anyone with Valda or Yu energy?
These seem more competitive than British Gas lite but their reviews are not encouraging.
Renewal due next month will the prices drop anymore or best to lock in a contract now?
We moved to valda 9 months ago, been very good to deal with.

Managed to get Octopus to change my contract a couple of weeks ago . I had a 3 yr contract 50 p day 35 p night . 120p per day standing charge . ( agreed in late summer last yr when all quotes were 70 p plus for 1 yr) . I still have the extortionate standing charge but rates dropped to 34 p day 25 p night for 12 months .

Still looks bad compared with offers today but I was very glad to get out of that 3 year contract .

How did you do that.
More importantly why would they do that.
If it wasn't for the gov grant scheme this winter would have been depressing.

Blimey. That’s good. My supplier says no way.

Prices seem to be fairly static with a hint of rising currently.

This is the best price offered today for me
EDF1232.628.8025+90.88%
That’s 12 month. 32.6 day, 28.8 night. 25p standing charge. A 90.88% price increase on the current contract.

Got a similar offer on the table, tempted to bite as have a contact on variable (fixed) term now and a big one up ending this autumn

I just rang up Octopus and asked ,spoke to young lad on the phone . Sent the offer through email , accepted and straight away new tariff showed up on the online portal . When I previously asked about leaving Octopus for a different company they quoted a fortune to get out of the contract but moving to an alternate tariff within Octopus , a different story .
