Establishing bird/bee mixes

I’m putting in some bird bumblebee mix on a few acres in a STEPs agreement ( Severn Trent water )
A mix of 5 seed bearing and 6 flowering plants, so all sizes from cereals to oxe eye daisy.
Obviously can’t drill very deep at all.
Got to be in by 15th sept. Is it better to crack on now while there’s plenty of moisture , or wait until nearer the cut off date as cereals drilled this early will be very prone to bydv etc.
Any tips ?

Why worry about BYDV? Not taking the 'crop' to harvest as such??
