Contracting charge I need a profit it does not cost me that to put mine in we get jobs from 8 ac transport to and from jobs f**king about seed fert it needs to pay or no point doing it

Very little in contracting at all tbh.
Some going out drilling stubble turnips for £12 an acre

What’s the tine spacing on a SKH? Keep seed rates up IMO

About 10cm a part on a double row, the soil is red sandstone.

I’ve used the discs, broadcast and roll method this year.

If you get rain at the right time, they will grow on a concrete yard.

14th of July after hybrid rye. Haven’t seen much rain since and have had to be sprayed for flea beetle . That’s a mix of kale, rape and turnips, hopefully for the cattle.
I’ve sown more turnips last week and today

I’ve put fert on earlier drilled crops that are up and away, but nothing on recently drilled stuff until I know if I will be redrilling it.
IF we get some rain this weekend I will feel a bit more confident, and may go on next week. I would be applying 2cwt/ac of Nitram (86 kg N/ha), as usual to turnips this early.

I was trying to convert the ‘2 bags to the acre’ into terms that the more educated and progressive forum members might understand, whilst putting exactly the same on as has always been done.

I would refer to RB209 for the recommended fert rate for the crop, then copy & paste that figure, as your application is surely ‘about right’.
